Hello, sunshine!
It is a glorious day here in Wellington, and it’s rather odd to finally shed the warm cardigans I tend to cling to.
I’m not really a summer girl. I love warm days, drinking beer in the sun, and all the spontaneous bbqs…but give me cold weather to wrap up away from any day.
This weekend i’m off over to the wairarapa to relax, craft, and eat lots of cheese with some of the awesome Craft2.0 sellers. It’s going to be ace.
In the meantime, don’t forget to enter the ‘what colourway is Hermione?’ competition, and have a fabulous weekend.

Really awesome stuff
Being a bit of a magpie, and a design geek from way back, there is a mental collection constantly growing in my brain of beautiful things that either I want to possess or somehow emulate.
I’m one of those people that buys piles of maagzines (when cash allows) and pulls out pages and pages to stow away for inspiration. I hate throwing them out, in fact when I went to London Mum couldn’t understand why I left a lovely stack of Frankies and Russh in the study, to be lovingly collected on my return.
Once a week i’m going to post something really awesome, to keep my creative juices flowing and to provide you with some eye candy. I’m currently on a real interior design binge, seeing as the boy and I finally ordered our new bed (which isn’t exactly what we wanted, but close enough for now), and so am on the hunt for ways to tart up our flat and make it a lovelier place to live in.
First up: Union furniture.
Oh. my. goodness. Want. That is all.

A competition!
After all the fun of dyeing up a new range of colourways, and naming them lovely ladies’ names, I have this yearning to dye something named Hermione.
Isn’t Hermione a fabulous name? Yes i’ve been watching a bit too much Harry Potter lately, but it’s a pretty name regardless.
The trouble is – what colour is Hermione? Like jeopardy for yarn, really.
I’ve had lots of suggestions via Twitter and Facebook already, but I’m going to make it an official competition.
Yarn Jeopardy!
What colourway is Hermione? Leave your suggestions in the comments box and the winner will receive 2 free skeins of Hermione all for themselves! Entries close 5pm NZ time Monday 15 November.
Go crazy!

This calls for…
a Knit Pro order! Lots of people have been asking for things I didn’t order the first time round, so another order is on the cards.
What would you like? I’m ordering more of the rainbow spectra acrylic sets because they are awesome (and such a good deal for only $72!). But i’m sure there are plenty of other things I should have – what size short tips are you after? Should I buy more acrylic tips? Any other accessories?
Go nuts in the comments. No obligation to buy, it’s just nice to know it’s there if you need it.
xx tash

Merino: Handspinning, dyeing and working with merino and superfine wools
There’s been a flurry of emails enquiring after this book thanks to the recent publicity about Margaret Stove’s new book.
If you’d like to add a copy to your collection, you can find it in the online shop – and because I can’t figure out all the tricks to the shipping rates, international shipping is set at $25. (if you’re in Australia, email me and i’ll give you the correct shipping cost of $10). If postage comes to less than $25, I will refund the difference via Paypal.
