Stock – where oh where is the stock?

Hello!

If you’re wondering why supply of Knitsch Sock is a little low…well, we’ve run out of yarn base! Which is a curse and a blessing – it’s been much, much busier than expected so far this year (blessing) so we’ve run out of yarn base much sooner than anticipated (curse!).

More yarn base is due early June – the soonest we could get our dye covered hands on it – so until then, the online stock will be a bit thin on the ground.

If you’re after Knit Pro needles – they are on their way, and will be re-stocked online by 19 May. We’ll be adding more Blue Sky Alpacas to our range as well for your yarn cuddling pleasure.

In the meantime, we’ll be busy: Tash will be selling at the Wonders of Wool market this Saturday, 12 May from 10 – 4 at Frank Kitts Underground Market, and will be at Handmade 2012 running the Knit Lounge, selling at the Meet the Makers party and teaching how to knit socks with Belinda Too.

So if you want to get hold of some Knitsch Sock, those are the places to be. And seeing as there will be a little extra time in the dye schedule over the next month, we’ll be tweaking our process so that we can be more productive – hooray!

So enjoy this glorious change to winter weather, keep on knitting, and we’ll keep you posted about when more sock yarn will be available.

Fyberspates deliciousness

Superstar designer Ysolda Teague and Jeni of Fyberspates have teamed  up to release a range of colours specifically for a new book of patterns. Both of these great women have been our favourites for a while now, and so we’re super excited to have them in stock.

Our first batch was cleaned out by quick customers almost as soon as it arrived – so we’ve got lots more on the way. There are a few cardigan-lots heading out to lovely knitters already – I can’t wait to see them knit up! If you need a certain amount and we don’t have it in the online shop, just let us know and we’ll get some in specially for you.

My needles are itching to cast on one of these….

Barley Sugar (click on image to arrive at Ravelry page)

in Treacle Toffee

Or one of these….

Almond Confit (click on the image to arrive at the Ravelry page)

in Empire BIscuit

We’ve got the book these patterns are from in stock now – or you can buy the individual patterns online. Whimsical Little Knits 3 has also just arrived….it’s like a shrine to Ysolda at the moment (and she’s totally worth it!)

Slackest blogger in the world.

That would be me!

In amongst lots and lots of yarn dyeing, I’ve managed to get away a couple of times. One of my friends loves driving along the back roads – so here’s some pretty pictures of our beautiful country….

One can’t help but be inspired for some new colourways….keep an eye out!

Happy New Year!

Hola!

How are you all?

I hope the year is treating you well so far. I’ve been revelling in possibly the longest break from work since…oh dear, 2009.

Books have been read. friends have been seen, I popped over to Sydney to hang with my brother and sister (and see in the New Year with an AMAZING view of the fireworks). And i’ve done a little bit of knitting. Not much, but enough.

2012 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year. I just have… a feeling that it will be a million gazillion times better than last year. While they weren’t horrfically awful, I had some serious downs to go with the ups in 2011. Which means heading into a shiny new year with an absolute determination to make more time for myself. This means – well, it means putting lots of effort into being super duper organised. Refining processes, keeping things neat, and trying not to get too distracted.

I have just the one resolution for 2012: I’m not allowed to start a new business. Nope. Not a one.

This has quite large ramifications – more time to spend on Knitsch and the shop, and hanging out with great customers.

Last night I watched Julie and Julia for the first time. On my to-do list was ‘update the blog’. Seeing that movie was just the kick up the pants I needed to get on here and get some words down. Having two blogs leaves me a bit torn as to where to share exciting things and random thoughts. It would be silly to promise a post a day, or even a post a week. But there will certainly be more!

xx Tash
