Yarn Club – tomorrow!

Whew, things have been a bit crazy around here, so I haven’t had the chance to catch you up on the latest yarn club.

It goes on sale tomorrow, 1 June, at 10am. Places are strictly limited and i’m not sure when I’ll be doing another.

What do you get?

120g approx of yarn sent every 2 months from 1 July

Mystery Escape or Plan Ahead for the two colourways each round

A super special secret package that will go out any time between 1 July and the end of the yarn club.

Treats!

I’m not promising patterns – but will do my best. Time is a bit stretched right now so promising things would be a little rash.

How much?

$125 + $15 postage for NZers

$125 (less GST) + $20 for Australia

$125 (less GST) + $35 for ROW

Meet Margaret Stove @Handmade 2011

Handmade 2011 is approaching fast – and if you’ve missed the hoopla so far, it’s time to get excited!

Handmade 2011 runs over Queen’s Birthday weekend at the fantastic venue that is Te Papa. It’s full of inspiring workshops, classes and lectures – if I wasn’t going to be busy running the Holland Road Yarn Company Knitting Lounge over the 2 days I’d be running between them like a crazy person.

It’s a real pleasure to be able to bring Margaret up to Wellington for this event – she will be presenting two lectures and milling around the place happy to answer questions, sign books and generally enjoy the craft love.

Places are selling out fast – if you want to meet Margaret and have a book signed, make sure you grab a ticket to the Meet the Makers party on Saturday night. It’s sure to be a blast!

CLOSED Tues 17 May

Tash is heading away to Brisbane Sunday/Monday/Tuesday and so Holland Road Yarn Co is going to be closed on Tuesday 17 May. Jem can’t work Tuesdays so sadly we won’t be open.

The lovely Matt will be here on Sunday to look after you and our drop spindle class, and Jem will be here as normal on Monday. Tash will be back on time to take the Absolute Beginners workshop that night.

Phew!

Wonders of Wool

It’s that time of year again – the much anticipated Frank Kitts’ market ‘Wonders of Wool’ edition.

We’ll be there rugged up, with lots and lots of yarny goodness – including a brand new colour range of Knitsch Sock! Tell you what, it’s been miles of fun just playing with new colours lately. And they are going down extremely well over at Holland Road Yarn Co.

The Wonders of Wool market will be the first place you’ll see any of these colours – so come along for a grand day. I’m rather looking forward to catching up with some of the other Wellington yarnies and tucking into some excellent food. You might just spy a new shipment of Hazel Knits on our table, along with great project bags, Fyberspates, lots of patterns all along with yours truly.

See you there!

Socks for the Boy

It’s about time the boy got a new pair of socks…this time, in Grainger (not yet online, soon!) and Popeye. I’m knitting up a second test of a super simple sock pattern i’ve been working on.

One of the reasons all the new colours aren’t up yet is because of the never ending camera battery saga! I finally got a new battery, popped it in the charger and….nothing.

How annoying to find out there’s nothing wrong with the battery after all! Watch this space for new colours up on the website in the next couple of weeks!

xx
